Fernando Alonso made a pretty strong statement about where he expects his team to go in the coming years.
The Spaniard could have been the Achilles heel of the end-of-year driver race, but he cut through all the speculation and Gordian knots and pushed aside the interest and signed another contract with Aston Martin. Is it all just convenience, or does he know something about the technology to be developed for the 2026 rule changes that has him so convinced?

We know, we know what Adrian Newey got out of the 2022 changes, or even earlier, how Mercedes became unbeatable. No one knows what will happen in 2026, but we are working to get there and I firmly believe that we will succeed. Aston will be the new Red Bull!"
