We all remember the chaos of last year's Brazilian Grand Prix, the postponed qualifying, the accidents. Well, all this did not go without consequences...
Therefore, a new rule was introduced regarding F1 qualifying. The most controversial issue regarding the qualifying mentioned in the introduction was how and on what basis the starting order would be determined if it were not possible to maintain it.
The reaction to what we saw last year is already here, which is manifested in the fact that if a similar situation were to develop from 2025, that is, a situation were to arise where qualifying cannot be held, then the rule is that the drivers will start according to the individual world championship points standings.
But what if all this happens at the very first race of the year, when there are no world championship points yet? Well, then the option arises that the starting order will be determined by the FIA race stewards. It is not yet known what directives they will follow, but it goes without saying that this decision will be met with incredible controversy…
