Rob Smedley, who once worked as an engineer at the Scuderia, believes it is unlikely that the "aged" Lewis Hamilton would have a real chance of facing Charles Leclerc.
Hamilton's Scuderia Ferrari debut will undoubtedly be one of, if not the most anticipated, attractions of 2025, but opinions are already divided on how successful it will be. Many believe that the seven-time world champion could be the Italians' messiah, leading them back to victory, but there are those who see the exact opposite. In fact, they think that the Briton will easily lose to Leclerc... Moreover, the person in question is a professional who knows the workings of Ferrari well:
"I think there's a point where his performance starts to decline and he's not really competitive anymore. I don't want to say he's getting old or lacking motivation because that would be disrespectful to him, but there's no denying that Lewis doesn't have the bite he used to. We see some frustration from time to time when he can't perform like he used to, but there's no denying that he's incredibly passionate and when he senses an opportunity, that fighting spirit comes back into him.
"However, I just don't believe Lewis went to Ferrari knowing he could beat Charles, I honestly don't believe he can. He's going to have a very difficult time and he's not going to be successful in the end, but we can be sure he'll do everything he can," Smedley said sharply about Hamilton's situation.
