Loic Serra has joined Scuderia Ferrari and it is said that the results will be felt and seen soon. The Ferrari, codenamed 677, will be a completely new design and, in theory, will be capable of much faster lap times.
Serra has a wealth of experience in the field of vehicle dynamics, which he is trying to transfer to the 2025 red model. It is rumored that the suspension components, torsion bars, and shock absorbers will change the most, and the direction of the effort is to make the 677 able to bring the new Pirellis to the highest possible operating range. To reduce overheating, and to enable stronger single-lap stages with better tire management. That is the goal.
The 2024 car, the SF-24, was friendly with the tyres in the races, but during qualifying the drivers suffered a lot with grip and a difficult warm-up. This often resulted in Scuderia Ferrari starting from further back than they could have otherwise achieved, a dilemma that the team led by Loic Serra was now facing. The changes introduced to the design of the 677 are aimed at rewriting the Ferrari's fundamental behaviour, and signs of this should be seen already at the very first check in Fiorano on February 19th.
