Sergio Perez had another extremely poor weekend. The Red Bull driver struggled to even get on the grid and the subsequent ordeal was even more miserable. The highlight was when he collided with Liam Lawson and smashed his car. The Red Bull Racing team principal did not leave this without comment.
"Formula 1 is a results-based business. If someone doesn't perform here, first they are warned, then they are fired. We work as a team, we fight as a team, and for that we need both our cars, both our drivers. That's the nature of Formula 1. We have always given Perez everything and we have always supported him, which will be the case next weekend in Brazil. But there will soon come a point where we have to think about how to move forward and make a painful decision.
"We are now third in the constructors' championship and we want to be in contention for victory again. There are still four races to go and it will not be an easy task," Horner said in a harsh tone about Perez.
