Imola, FP2: Ferrari was the fastest AGAIN

Imola, FP2: ISMÉT a Ferrari volt a leggyorsabb

Krisztián Márk Tóth |

Work continued at Imola, and with it the trend of Ferrari appearing to be the leading force.

This stage started a little quieter than the first free practice session, which was blatantly error-prone, but it became clear relatively quickly that the overall picture would not change much. Accordingly, the Scuderia Ferrari cars dictated the pace, and McLaren, which was expecting a strong position before the weekend, also arrived alongside Mercedes, which was also performing well. And with a Red Bull team that was still looking for a soporific self... By the end of the first half hour, the soft compounds were also introduced, the qualifying simulations started, but the picture mentioned above did not change at all. The adrenaline did not excite us, this FP2 was particularly boring, only the muscle-building between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton brought some color to the uneventful... At such times, it is worth quietly thinking about whether modern F1 really needs three more free practice formulas? In the remaining quarter of an hour, we only saw a Charles Leclerc Sergio Perez fight, another Verstappen gravel bed, and the results were no longer changing. Before FP3, Charles Leclerc, Oscar Piastri, and, somewhat surprisingly, Yuki Tsunoda finished in the top three.
