Daniel Ricciardo's "case" has been hanging in the air for a long time. The once-promising Australian driver has been struggling to put it mildly lately, and although he would love to join Max Verstappen in the winning Red Bull, the opposite will likely happen.
This was confirmed by Sky Sports reporter Ted Kravitz, who revealed after the Italian Grand Prix that, contrary to popular belief, it is almost an open secret within the paddock that Ricciardo is in his final hours in Formula 1:
"We will have a driver announcement at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix at Visa Cash App, but it is not necessarily what the public expects. They will not announce Daniel Ricciardo's stay, but rather his departure. It is safe to say that Liam Lawson will be Yuki Tsunoda's teammate from next season. At least that is what we expect, and our noses are not usually deceived," said television expert Kravitz.
