Juan Pablo Montoya rarely speaks out, but when he does, there's always a good reason. This time is no different, as he couldn't help but comment on the performance of former F1 driver Carlos Sainz.
But the situation Montoya spoke about is not unique to one person, as Franco Collapinto, who burst onto Formula 1 like a comet, also plays a significant role in it. The Colombian driver didn't forget to include him in his comments:
"If I were Christian Horner or one of the Red Bull bosses, I would go straight to Williams and tell them, if you are happy with Colapinto, then let him stay with you, and let Sainz go to us. It would also be good for Franco if he did not immediately face such a big challenge as Max Verstappen. He would perhaps even pose a bigger risk than Sergio Perez. The latter is experienced, has race victories, knows the conditions. At the same time, let's remember how Alexander Albon was, how he collapsed... And this is where Carlos Sainz comes into the picture. It would be a challenge for Verstappen, a huge boost in the constructors' battle, plus they would also be financially well off with him.
"I would choose Sainz instead of Horner, not Collapinto," Montoya said, probably from the hearts of many fans.
