Red Bull is not at the top compared to itself right now, they have suffered more in the last three race weekends than in the last year and a half combined.
They didn't give it to them in Miami, they won with a groan in Imola, and in Monaco they proved to be hopeless for ultimate success practically from the first practice. Some people are very upset about this, Lando Norris is not one of them:
"I think it was fantastic to see a podium without Red Bull! It might sound bad coming from me, but it's great news for the spectators and proof for the other drivers that there's a chance. And let's not forget that it's also great for the championship, because the standings are much closer!"
They haven't been doing well lately, but I don't think they're really struggling. They didn't win, that's true, but they were still only a tenth or two off pole. It's not really that they've been doing badly, it's more that Scuderia Ferrari have been showing a lot of pace and we're getting closer and closer to them. Our aim is to beat the two Ferraris consistently first.
This won't happen tomorrow, but we are making great strides. Despite all the difficulties, Red Bull is an even bigger obstacle, they have the most reliable car in the field. As a team, they make the fewest mistakes, and what's important is: Max Verstappen. To write him off, to bet against him, would be the biggest blunder we could make..." - Norris rejoiced soberly.
