Qatar sprint: Piastri takes a gift victory

Qatar sprint: Piastri ajándék győzelmet szerzett

Tóth Krisztián Márk |

Lando Norris dominated Saturday afternoon's sprint race at the Qatar Grand Prix, but handed the victory to his teammate Oscar Piastri on the final lap.

The two McLarens made a great start, and Lando Norris immediately moved away from the field. In the back regions, it was interesting to observe Max Verstappen's struggle, the new world champion Pierre Gaslyn couldn't even fight his way through to the fourth lap. All this only managed to the eighth lap, so we're not used to this from him... Speaking of Red Bull Racing, it's worth remembering Sergio Perez's "performance", who couldn't even overtake Franco Collapinto who was starting from the pits (the Argentine did it right away instead) and was in 19th place. It should be noted here that the fact that someone with so much experience can be a Formula 1 driver and a member of the Red Bull team is slowly bordering on the unbelievable category... Meanwhile, Charles Leclerc moved up to fifth place after a spectacular battle against Lewis Hamilton and won, so we could see a McLaren, Mercedes, and Ferrari line-up. In the end, this did not change, except that on the last lap Lando Norris handed over the victory to Oscar Piastri, with George Russell still able to finish on the podium behind them.
