As previously suspected, Loic Serra, who arrived from Mercedes and started work in October, inherited the position, putting practically all the building blocks previously dreamed up by Frederic Vasseur in place.
Back in July, the previous technical director, Enrico Cardile, signed with Aston Martin, so Vasseur briefly took over this role, but he made it clear even then that this could not remain the case.
A recent Ferrari press release states that Serra will soon take over as technical director for the car, reporting directly to Vasseur. Enrico Gualtieri will remain as head of the technical department on the powertrain side, so he will have the honor of creating the 2026 powertrain with his colleagues.
Returning to Serre's position, the Italians have indicated that he will not only be directly responsible for the car, but will also be in charge of the performance, aerodynamics and bodywork departments. We are curious to see how much this will improve Scuderia Ferrari. Or will the slogan remain "next year"!?
