Helmut Marko clearly stated that Daniel Ricciardo failed to fulfill his mission and must go.
In fact, he also clearly named his successor, so it's only a matter of days (hours...) for the official announcement to arrive:
“After discussions with our shareholders, I would like to clarify that Visa Cash App is a youth club and must operate accordingly. When we signed Daniel, our goal was for him to perform outstandingly and thus register for a seat at Red Bull Racing. Well, that has since been sold, Sergio Perez got it, so Daniel's mission has come to an end. A young driver will soon take his place,” the boss said sternly. (We still don't understand what Perez is looking for in a Red Bull, but that's not really the point.)
Whether this means a mid-year dismissal or a failure to extend his contract is not yet known, but on the other hand, we can safely welcome the arrival of Liam Lawson.
