The US Grand Prix continued from Friday to Saturday with sprint qualifying, where Max Verstappen proved to be the fastest.
During the 12 minutes of SQ1, we saw a non-stop lap, during which the drivers constantly changed hands at the front. Max Verstappen, Kevin Magnussen, Lewis Hamilton, etc. gave each other the reins... In the end, Charles Leclerc won this stage, ahead of the aforementioned Hamilton and Verstappen, while among the eliminated drivers, to some surprise, we could note Oscar Piastri, Esteban Ocon, Alexander Albon, and as usual, the two Alfa Romeos.
The game didn't change much in SQ2 either: Ferrari took the lead, this time Carlos Sainz was the fastest, followed by Verstappen and Hamilton. Of the dropouts, two names were worth noting, Sergio Perez and Liam Lawson. While the former is burning himself out with a pathetic performance in a car capable of winning the world championship, the latter, after many failures, is easily able to achieve this level in a VISA RB... And by the way, the two Aston Martons and Pierre Gasly also said goodbye.
In SQ3, it seemed for a long time that George Russell would be the finisher, and only teammate Hamilton or one of the Ferraris could threaten him. In the end, that wasn't the case, Max Verstappen found some extra time somewhere and won the sprint qualifying ahead of George Russell and Charles Leclerc!
