It's undeniable that at Scuderia Ferrari, it's not customary to stand in line. The Italians, among other things, don't share the "etiquette" that the easiest way to become world champion is to split your team into first and second-tier drivers.
Instead, they signed a seven-time world champion who is still in full force alongside Charles Leclerc, and they achieved what would be unthinkable at Red Bull Racing. However, Frederic Vasseur is not worried, in fact he is confident about 2025:
"We can definitely achieve more with two top drivers than with one and a half. The great performance last weekend (1-3 places in the Monaco Grand Prix) was also born from the fact that Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz are constantly and hard pushing each other. This is very positive for our performance, because if one of them falls behind, the other driver wakes them up. We have been working like this since last year, and our experiences are absolutely positive. Two strong drivers are better than one world champion aspirant and one stable water carrier, I believe in that." - Vasseur implicitly sent a message to his big rival.
This move became extremely sympathetic after Red Bull practically kept a driver competing at the F2 level, Perez, on a ventilator, thus killing the fight within the team and thus the possibility of an exciting championship...
