End: Dutch Grand Prix to end in 2026

Vége: 2026-ban búcsúzik a Holland Nagydíj

Tóth Krisztián Márk |

We have raised the issue on numerous occasions that F1 management does not care about traditions.

Here is another shining example. The promoter of the incredibly popular Dutch Grand Prix, which is at the absolute top in terms of viewership among races, announced today that they are leaving the F1 circuit. For good. You can read the official statement, you can even find some reason in it, but we all know the truth: the Las Vegas, Miami, Qatar “droid” tracks, meaningless moneybags, are coming, and they are making an exclusive business out of the sport. Louder and louder and louder… While the venues that are the DNA of the sport are being pushed to the brink of ruin. Or into the abyss.

"We had many opportunities to continue. We could have changed the tracks every year, for example, but we didn't see the point in all of that. It may be surprising, but after considering many aspects, we came to the conclusion that it wasn't worth continuing. The last race in Zandvoort will be in 2026, where an iconic era in the history of Dutch sport will end. Max Verstappen is the leader, the hero of everything, so I say that instead of regretting it, let's enjoy these remaining two years and races with him."
To remain profitable, a three-day continuous full house at a Grand Prix would be necessary, and this is a thin line that we will not be able to cross in the future. A one-off decline would not be such a problem, the problem is that market forecasts show otherwise..." - the bitter reality is stated in the track's statement.
