Max Verstappen said in his moments of joy after the race that he could have won the 2024 World Championship with McLaren, or even with Ferrari. Several people were shocked and asked his boss how the recent winner could say such a thing.
"On that basis, you can say that it is absolutely true. There is no driver who could have beaten him except himself, and there is no other driver who could have won the championship behind the wheel of a Red Bull. And since he was not in the best car, it is obvious that he would have had a chance of winning the world championship in another one. It was a difficult and turbulent season, but I am not sure that we will be as successful in 2025... If we can give him a car that is not as capricious as this year's, then yes, Max will do it," said Helmut Marko.
