Although we still have to wait a little longer for the opening of the 2025 season, the substantive work is already in full swing, we will soon hear the first starts of the new cars, the film days will begin, then the tests... And hip-hop, the championship opening of the Australian Grand Prix is here!
And it's a major change, because this will bring F1 back to its roots and established traditions, as it would have been unthinkable for a long time not to start the season in Melbourne. Thank goodness, traditions won out, so the 76th Formula 1 season will start on March 16th at Albert Park, where, like last year, 24 races will be held this year, including six sprint weekends. The first of these will take place on the second race weekend of the year, in Shanghai, and then there will be excitement in Miami, Spa Francorchamps, Austin, Sao Paulo and Losail on Friday.
The field will arrive in Europe in mid-May, and Imola will be the first race to be held when the Formula 1 World Championship sets foot on the old continent. A significant change affecting us Hungarians is that the Hungarian Grand Prix has also regained its usual role as the last race before the summer break, with the racing circus arriving at the semi-renovated Hungaroring between August 3 and 5. The season-ending venue and date remain fixed, this time again in early December, in Abu Dhabi, where F1 will close the current racing year.
