They didn't wait for Wednesday's collective tests, they unveiled their new car last night, which they will take to the track tomorrow in Bahrain, as part of a film day.
The team chose the usual online presentation, during which they published graphics of the AMR25. According to Fernando Alonso, this model is 95% different from last year's race car. The side boxes have changed, the front wing, which has undergone a major development. Their goal is to achieve better speed in the slower corners than ever before. In addition, the cooling, engine cover and the whole picture have been improved in terms of the efficiency of the aero pack.
All of these changes are aimed at improving the car's handling, to avoid the struggles seen last year, when Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll suffered a lot. With the innovations listed above, Aston Martin can be stronger on the more technical tracks that were a weak point last year, in addition to the hoped-for competitiveness.
"We've used all the lessons and feedback from last season for our car this year. Our aim was to give Lance and Fernando a much better driveable car, and we've worked hard to keep it under control and make it more reliable," said Andy Cowell, team principal.
