Brazilian Grand Prix: Amazing Verstappen victory

Brazil Nagydíj: Elképesztő Verstappen győzelem

Tamás Jancsovics |

Horrible chaos, Lando Norris' hell, Max Verstappen's resurrection, spiced up with some Alpine miracles. This is the chronicle of the Brazilian Grand Prix in short.

The Brazilian Grand Prix had not even started yet, and we could already document the first elimination: Lance Stroll threw his Aston Martin on the lead-up lap and buried himself in the gravel. That was the end of the race for him… The “second” first start was best caught by George Russell, who immediately took the lead ahead of Lando Norris. The field came relatively clean, only Sergio Perez managed to spin, which caused him to slip back to last place. Meanwhile, in the other Red Bull, Max Verstappen showed a very strong catch-up, and within a few laps he was already ahead of Oscar Piastri, in seventh place. Franco Colapinto and Oliver Bearman also paraded, they overtook the suffering Lewis Hamilton. The seven-time world champion struggled spectacularly, could not find the harmony with his car, and was hanging around at the back of the field. The race was just starting to flatten out when an extreme amount of water fell on the track, so a safety car phase was ordered.

Before that, several more people visited the pit lane, including Collapinto, who, however, badly crashed the Williams on the exit lap. A red flag followed, a long wait, and then a flying start… During this, Esteban Ocon maintained his leading position, but Lando Norris crashed a lot in the background due to a skid. Meanwhile, Bearman ended up in the wall, but it all happened in the right place, so the race could continue without any disturbances. Meanwhile, Ocon's lead was growing, but Carlos Sainz came, crashed, and the safety car arrived again. Verstappen caught the new restart better and took over the lead. And since Norris made a huge mistake, he practically handed his rival the opportunity on a platter…

The next twenty laps went like this, Verstappen and the two Alpines on the podium, battles at the back in the field, and Norris “nowhere”. There was no more drama in the remaining time, and Max Verstappen fought hard and won the Brazilian Grand Prix with a huge lead, ahead of Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly. And with it, probably another world championship title.
