Red Bull Racing consultant Helmut Marko has made a serious statement. The expert says his team must let go of the fight for the constructors' title and now focus on defending the individual title with all their might.
Because according to Marko, the constructors' trophy has finally slipped away this weekend... McLaren turned the tables in Baku with a twenty-point advantage in their pocket and is leading the manufacturers' standings for the first time since the 2014 Australian Grand Prix. After the race, Red Bull did not do a happy dance, and their depression is best illustrated by the interview given by their high-ranking person to Sky Sport: "I'll be honest. We have to give up the constructors' world championship title and now focus only on the individual. Maybe it will help us that Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri are very close to each other in the points race, and this could still cause problems down the road. We will have to speed up somehow and make our car easier to handle. For now, we are confident that we can do it and defend our individual world championship title on our own." - said Marko.
A 59-point lead here, previous years' world championship titles and the myth of invincibility there, but it still sounds pretty crappy...
