Formula 1 returned from the summer break at the Dutch Grand Prix in a weather-beaten manner, and the field continued where it left off in the first free practice session.
Heavy rain, massive gusts of wind, Zandvoort was not kind to the field in FP1. For a long time we could see only little activity, first Pierre Gasly and Nico Hülkenberg ventured out, of course on rain tires. This did not stop the latter from visiting the pit lane and gravel bed a few times. Later the rain stopped and the strong wind caused the concrete to dry quickly, and the intermediate tires were also put on. The latest news about Alpinen is that the team announced its new driver, who will be Jack Doohan. But there were changes here too, as Robert Swartzman was able to sit in the Alfa Romeo for FP1, which did not hold many events and excitement. At the end, the slicks were also put on, on which Lando Norris was the fastest ahead of Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton.
