Oops: Could a political scandal erupt from Andretti's rejection of F1?

HOPPÁ: Politikai botrány robbanhat ki Andrettiék F1-es elutasításából?

The chairman of the US Judiciary Committee, i.e. a fairly high level of American political life, has initiated proceedings for the undeserved rejection of Mario Andretti's project.

Liberty Media, the American owner of an American company, Republican Jim Jordan, is the target, and he is waiting for an explanation – what he expects, what he demands – as to how the above-mentioned disgrace could have happened. How a decision could have been made to reject Andretti, who had mobilized serious energies for a role in Formula 1.

“The Judiciary Committee will be tasked with investigating whether federal competition laws have been violated or are even sufficient to protect fair competition from monopolies and unfair trade restrictions. This could be the case for the entire sport if F1 has to hinder competition in order to survive. It is unreasonable to make unreasonable decisions in favor of unfairly weak competitors, and it is unseemly for F1 management to engage in anti-competitive behavior under the pretext of the purported needs of the championship.

"Restricting the entry of Andretti Cadillac, or even delaying it by just one year, will cause serious harm to American consumers and support economically failing teams. This is a dangerous move by Liberty Media, which we will certainly investigate to the fullest extent of the law," the politician wrote in his letter, which was also sent to Stefano Domenicali.
