It's been a long time since the announcement of Carlos Sainz's release, and there are occasional storms that the Spaniard was let go by Scuderia Ferrari during what was perhaps the best season of his life.
Many believe that the team is to blame for this, but now Carlos Sainz's father has spoken out that Lewis Hamilton is more to blame for what happened than the red team:
"Ferrari was very happy with Carlos, but he couldn't stay because Hamilton offered himself to the team. He was the one who approached Ferrari, and not the other way around. That's why this story turned out this way, but it's a shame to complain about it. What's sad is that Carlos doesn't get the respect and appreciation he deserves based on his abilities. He had his best season, we see his best self right now, and he'll only continue to improve. He's a driver who gets more complete every year, but he's going through a difficult time at Williams. The team was penultimate among the constructors, but despite that, he's very motivated. It was difficult for him to process his situation during the year, also that Mercedes and Red Bull Racing didn't choose him either, but you'll see what he's capable of..." - said the elder Sainz with disappointed pride.
