Helmut Marko and his team did another typical Red Bull Racing-style act of stupidity this week by sacking Liam Lawson after just two races. It's not just the driver in question who is unhappy about this.
But neither has the team's icon, Max Verstappen. Verstappen has already given numerous signs that he is not happy with his situation at RBR, and this may be another push for him in a different direction...
"We are clear that Max is not happy now. But he also needs to understand that we need two cars, and not just for the constructors' championship. Much more so to help him win another world championship. Strategically, we need both cars to be in the lead, and we hope that Yuki Tsunoda will live up to the expectations placed on him. Yuki comes in good form, and if he can do that here too, it will be to Max's advantage. We didn't choose him before because he wasn't balanced enough. However, Lawson broke under pressure, got into a negative spiral and couldn't get out of it. He was in a situation like a boxer being counted on. We were wrong not to see this weakness of his earlier," said Marko, who probably added new wings to the Verstappen / Aston Martin "rumors".
