The second free practice session continued the trend we saw in the first. With the difference that Aston Martin somehow found some pace too!
In this stage, the medium and hard compound tires were also introduced, but this did not change the picture of the practice much. Charles Leclerc still seemed the most composed, so we were not surprised that he quickly rose to the top of the list. Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton also looked there, but this was only short-lived. Leclerc held himself stable, and in fact, he was able to continuously improve, bringing the home track effect great. In the meantime, we could constantly witness minor mistakes, which always color the slow-motion footage here in Monaco.
By then we were halfway through practice, and the race simulations were about to begin, and if we can believe them, Scuderia Ferrari and Mercedes will definitely make things difficult for Red Bull Racing this weekend. But McLaren and Aston Martin are not to be written off either… The second stage was easily won by Charles Leclerc, Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso.
