Monaco, FP3: Leclerc is irresistible!

Monaco, FP3: Leclerc ellenállhatatlan!

Krisztián Márk Tóth |

The last free practice session before qualifying was held in Monaco, where Charles Leclerc claimed pole position with a significant lead.

Free practice had barely begun when Valtteri Bottas hit the wall and broke his right front suspension. A red flag phase followed, but the crew quickly finished their work, and after a few minutes the laps resumed. And the trend continued, according to which Scuderia Ferrari and Charles Leclerc seemed to be the most capable. Leclerc quickly took the lead by continuously throwing purple sectors (especially his superiority in the middle is incredible), but interestingly now Carlos Sainz was also up to the task, so the two red cars dominated FP3. Apparently only Mercedes could have a say in this, since shortly before qualifying George Russell showed a pace that could give reason for confidence. At the moment, it looks like anyone from the foursome of Ferrari, Mercedes, Red Bull, McLaren will be able to reach one of the first three places in qualifying. Or rather, second or third place, because so far the pole seems to be rented: Charles Leclerc is in the lead with a six-tenths advantage over Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton.

One of, if not the most exciting time trial training sessions in recent times is coming up!
