Monaco Grand Prix: Leclerc wins from start to finish!

Monacói Nagydíj: Rajt-cél Leclerc győzelem!

Krisztián Márk Tóth |

It's not for nothing that he said: He's no longer interested in podium finishes, he only considers victory acceptable. The Ferrari driver approached the weekend with this attitude, and it resulted in his first home victory.

Charles Leclerc got off to a great start and held on to his lead, while his teammate wasn't so lucky. Carlos Sainz suffered a puncture and retired after just one corner, with Lando Norris taking over third place. Kevin Magnussen had the accident of the year later, taking Nico Hülkenberg and Sergio Perez out of the race. Red flag!

The race continued with 16 cars, with a standing start, and fortunately for Sainz, the repair of the barrier took so long that he was able to get back into the race. The restart was also flawlessly executed by Leclerc, who was closely followed by Oscar Piastri. It looked like we would see a race without a pit stop, as everyone except Logan Sargeant had to make the mandatory tire changes during the red flag phase. This did not bode well for us, and we were not disappointed, Monaco “brought itself together”.

We could see precise driving through a sea of laps, practically no change of place, mostly at the end of the midfield. It was frenetic to see that on this relatively slow track, everyone from seventh place down got a lap, some even two… Meanwhile, the gap at the front was growing, Charles Leclerc was racing towards victory, which they couldn't wrest from his hands. Leclerc confidently won the Monaco Grand Prix by almost 8 seconds ahead of Oscar Piastri and Carlos Sainz!
