The 2025 racing season hasn't even started yet, and George Russell could already be the first in something. There's a good chance he'll be the one the FIA will make an example of with its new swearing regulations.
The Mercedes driver spoke out on the first day of testing in Bahrain, where he told streaming service Viaplay about the power outage that disrupted the day: "Oh shit, the lights went out."
This has already put him in the crosshairs of the new regulations, where they are investigating whether he caused moral damage to the FIA, the organization's reputation, its members, officials, and universal automobile/motorsport in general. What a joke! If the charges are upheld, Russell's small slur will cost him 40,000 euros. If he swears on further occasions, this could rise to 120,000 euros, and then a point deduction and even a one-month ban. On this basis, Yuki Tsunoda and Max Verstappen don't even have to start 2025...
