The F1 field has had interesting and telling days, and it is very difficult to draw any sensible conclusions from the testing in Bahrain.
The final day brought another interesting twist, especially in terms of weather, as this time the teams were faced with much milder, warmer conditions. There was no shortage of other incidents, as Lance Stroll missed the first few hours due to illness, a glass panel broke off the side of the starting grid, and then a bus driving onto the track caused a bizarre red flag phase… Charles Leclerc had the fastest lap of the morning, Andrea Kimi Antonelli was in second place, and behind them Lando Norris still managed to make it to the imaginary podium.
In the afternoon, the focus shifted to the longer stages, but Max Verstappen took the lead and remained in the lead until the last ten minutes of the test. Then George Russell came along, who finally beat this lap time, but strangely enough, the best time of the three days was not this, but the result of Carlos Sainz, who ran during yesterday's session. Different compounds, different tactics, hiding performance, that's all that is certain, and the development of McLaren and the progress of Williams. The rest is impossible to predict.
