Sergio Perez is in big trouble, and since his contract extension (he hasn't shown anything before that would have made Red Bull Racing's move understandable) he has been on an increasingly steep decline.
Specifically, it is no longer a challenge for Haas to beat the constructors' world champion's car, as it is customary that it can barely make it out of Q1 in qualifying, and let alone the form it showed in the races... Christian Horner and his team had enough of this, and as expected (if the world championship battle gets tougher, they will have to look for a more competent driver), the bench under Perez began to wobble. Which is no longer a wobble, but rather an EARTHQUAKE.
Perez cannot be further than 100 points from Max Verstappen after the Belgian Grand Prix, and he can only be five places behind his teammate in the individual race. These clauses are said to have been activated in his Mexican contract. If you look at the table, you can see that this is a practically unfulfillable commitment, and just another reason to fire Sergio Perez from Red Bull Racing. The most you can and should wonder is why not sooner.
Apologies to the Perez fans, if there are any.
