Things are moving fast in Austin, as just a few hours after the sprint race, qualifying for the US Grand Prix took place, which was won by Lando Norris.
During Q1, the trio of Max Verstappen, Lando Norris and Sergio Perez dominated the field on the first fast lap. A few minutes later, Charles Leclerc, Pierre Gasly and Carlos Sainz took over the lead, and finally Verstappen, Leclerc and the returning Liam Lawson finished in the top 3 in Q1. Surprisingly, Lewis Hamilton, the two Williams and Stake Alfa Romeo cars were among the eliminated cars.
In Q2, Norris, Verstappen, Piastri showed the way, and finally Verstappen, Sainz, Norris made it to the top three. The track conditions were constantly improving, the fight was getting fiercer, at this stage the qualifying session for the US Grand Prix practically still seemed to be a three-way match. However, for the two VISA RBs, Lance Stroll, Esteban Ocon, and Nico Hülkenberg, there was no continuation, they said goodbye to further struggles.

After that, the all-decisive Q3 could come, before which it was almost impossible to guess who would finish! Accordingly, after the first shots, the order was Norris, Verstappen, Sainz, but the time difference between the leading duo was almost incomprehensibly small. Verstappen then started the last fast lap sensationally, but he could no longer convert his pace into a result, because the qualifying was “interrupted” due to George Russell’s accident.

All of this meant that Lando Norris took pole position ahead of Max Verstappen and Carlos Sainz!
