After a lot of struggle and a bad race, both Max Verstappen and Red Bull Racing now feel like they are starting to recover from the ups and downs.
The turning point came with the modified floorpan that the team designed for the Azerbaijani Grand Prix:
"I felt very early on that something was wrong in terms of balance, something was very different from last year's car - We were much faster then, but not because we were that much better, but because the others didn't feel what they do now. And we were able to compensate for the difficulties before, at one point it didn't work anymore. While the others were constantly improving... It went on like that until Baku, we were constantly going downhill. But since then I feel better in the car. We managed to make progress there. It's a slow process, but it's already clear that we're moving in the right direction, and I feel like we're over the difficult part. From there, it's only uphill!" said an optimistic Verstappen, who will receive further improvements for Austin, regarding the platform, which is considered the weakest point.
