The FIA president is still not giving up on his idea of "cleaning up" communication between drivers. And if this cannot be achieved with penalties, then encryption may come.
Radio has provided many unforgettable moments for motorsports fans, from Kimi Raikkonen's classics to Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen's rants. However, the FIA is waging a war on common sense and humor, and from 2025 onwards, anyone who uses obscene language on the radio could lose points. And that's still not good enough for Mohammed Ben Sulayem, who would also exclude viewers from the aforementioned experience and encrypt radio conversations.
"Should we turn off live radio communication? There is an effort in this direction. There are a lot of things we are working on with the involvement of the promoters. Let no one forget that we are still the owners of the championship, we will determine where we go next," said the sports director.
We don't want to seem rude, but doesn't someone finally want to clear this leadership from the FIA?
