Sky Sports reporter Craig Slater has the inside scoop on what's going on at Alpine following Esteban Ocon's incredible Monaco manoeuvre.
Slater hinted that the team management is preparing to take drastic steps, they want to set an example with draconian strictness so that something like this doesn't happen again:
"After the incident, Canal+ immediately called team principal Bruno Famin, and he did not hide his anger. He said that he would make a decision that everyone would mention. Many people think that this means that Esteban Ocon will rest for the next race. And he will be very lucky if he gets away with that…
Famin is considering all this very seriously, but there is no final decision on the matter yet. This has not come at a good time, as Alpine is in trouble, their car is not competitive, but they could have achieved a good result with both cars in this race. However, the team lacked sufficient discipline, and therefore the management is very angry, so a decision could easily be made that is essentially unprecedented in modern Formula 1. On Sunday, immediately after the race, the parties sat down at the table, Ocon also apologized to Famin, and then did the same on various social media platforms. I am curious to see how the story develops…”

If Esteban Ocon is indeed forced out of the race in Montreal, then we could inaugurate another rookie after Oliver Bearman, as Jack Doohan could most likely make his debut in his seat.
