Sergio Perez's place at Red Bull Racing is under threat, and that's nothing new. Names are being floated every day to replace him, and now Christian Fittipaldi has thrown an interesting one into the mix.
According to former Formula 1 driver Fittipaldi, it could easily happen that Oscar Piastri, who is tired of being the second driver at Red Bull, will say goodbye to McLaren at the end of the season and continue his career in Perez's place from 2025:
"As strange as it may seem to think about it now, I don't think it's impossible that Oscar Piastri will leave McLaren at the end of the year and move to Red Bull to replace Perez. By then, perhaps Piastri will have grown a little tired of supporting Lando Norris, of being the second driver, and will make a sudden move," Fittipaldi mused.
It may sound crazy, but there are several possibilities. One is that Piastri could sit in the current best car in the field and compete with the best driver in the championship. Red Bull would gain a great driver and seriously weaken their main rival McLaren. It's a thought-provoking idea!
